The latest Tie Dye has arrived. I'm trying something new and coping the text of the Tie Dye into the body of this blog post. If you're reading this and like having the text in this format, email me at email@example.com so I know if it's worth continuing.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 28, is the first of the teacher collaboration days, which means it’s a minimum day. The majority of Wednesdays from here on out will be minimum days – so many that one parent recently recommended simply marking your calendars with the few Wednesdays that are not minumum days, knowing that the rest are! Good tip!
Don’t forget! Our first non-attendance day is next week on Monday, September 2.
BACK TO SCHOOL PICNIC
ANOTHER GREAT FOP EVENT!
A great big thank you goes out to our PAG Social Committee and the picnic organizers, Ann Griffith and Jessica Elkins, for another fun evening at the park. There was a large turnout, and we hope many of you got to meet some new friends and have a relaxing evening. The kids had a blast, as usual! Also many thanks go out to the youth band Indie Daze for being ready and willing to play a gig for us. The park didn’t have ready the electricity that their rockin’ band needs, but we hope to see them at a future FOP event.
FIRST MEETING A SUCCESS!
This year’s first PAG Meeting was well attended, and much was accomplished! Paul Hardy will serve as the PAG Treasurer this year (thank you for your willingness, Paul!) If you have any questions about your fund drive commitment, please contact Paul (firstname.lastname@example.org). Please consider attending future PAG meetings! The next one will be held on Thursday, September 26 at 6:00pm in the Library. As always, free childcare will be available. If you would like to have a voice at FOP, this is the way to do it! We look forward to seeing you there!
GARDEN DONATION RECOGNITION
PAG would like to thank and recognize the Sylvan Improvement Club for their generous donation of $750 toward our Garden fundraiser, which was initiated in the spring of 2019. The Club is a non-profit corporation which has been active in Stanislaus County since 1907. Its historical purpose is to improve, beautify, preserve and provide for the general benefit of the community. Thank you, Sylvan Improvement Club, for extending your generosity to Fremont Open Plan! For more information about the Club, visit www.sylvanclub.org.
EARN $ FOR FOP WHILE SHOPPING
Are you an Amazon shopper? If so, please don’t forget to use Amazon’s Smile program, through which Amazon will donation a portion of your purchase price to FOP. It’s easy! Point your web browser to smile.amazon.com. Designate Fremont Open Plan as your school of choice (if you haven’t already). Everything is the same when you shop from this link – Prime benefits, prices, etc. – it simply tells Amazon that you want a portion of your purchase to go to your school. UPDATE: Android users can now select a school and shop through the Smile program right in the Amazon app. Go to settings to set it up, and make sure you renew your selection each month. The iOS Amazon app does not yet have Smile functionality, so you’ll have to use your iPhone or iPad browser. Either way, it’s easy to raise money for our school just by following a link!
