Hi, I am Levi, one of the middle department teachers. My first teaching job was first grade in Hayward California. After two years my wife, Priya, and I decided we wanted one last adventure before we settled down so we joined the Peace Corps. Peace Corps sent us to Falesti Moldova where I taught English and my wife taught health education. This experience has helped me become bilingual, and understand the important role the community takes in educating its children.

Last year I was one of two teachers at a new charter school in Richmond, California. I am very excited to be working here at Fremont Open Plan. I look forward to doing some amazing things with the staff, students and parents. I just moved here from the Bay Area. I grew up in Marin County before attending Cal State Monterey Bay.

My family just got bigger; my wife just gave birth to our first child, a little boy named Ari. He is a wonderful addition to our life though has not slowed us down. I love to be active and some of my favorite things to do are play soccer, bike ride, and rock climb.

I believe everyone should find what they are passionate about and pursue it. This is my 14th year of teaching and I love working with kids! My experience and love has been in grades 3-5, teaching with enthusiastic students, teachers and staff. I taught three years at Paradise Elementary, nine years at Stroud Elementary and now in the Middle Department at Fremont Open Plan. I am thrilled to be working in such a strong community that thrives to enrich children’s lives.

I grew up in San Jose, California and graduated from San Jose State University. My husband, Tom, and I settled in Modesto in 1993 to achieve all of our dreams. We’ve enjoyed the relationships we’ve built throughout the community through our restaurant, Appetez. We are also blessed with two amazing children, Maya and Noah.

Personally, I enjoy traveling with my family. A special tradition of ours is that my husband and I renew our vows each year in a new state. We’ve been married a lot! Some of my other loves are reading, computers, painting, venturing out to Yosemite and bike rides with the family.
